Fitting a Hutt Imports Marine Bimini Top

Thankyou for buying one of our Bimini tops. This can only be a general guide to fitting, as boats vary a lot and so will fitting to your particular craft. You will need a drill and a screwdriver and ideally 2 people. Any questions please call. Remember Measure twice drill once!

A.  3 cross tubes

B.  Bimini top

C.  Storage cover

D.  support pole sets

E.  Bimini Mounts

F.  Small screws

G.  Long screws

H.  Bimini Front straps

I.   Extra spare straps

J.  Strap Mount Eyes

Spread the top (B) out on a clean surface.

Insert the 3 top tubes(A) through the sleeves,

Leaving them Protruding a few inches from one side. Note the tubes are curved and the top of the curve should be at the top of the cover.

Fit one of the support pole sets to the protruding tube ends.  The curved seam in the centre of the cover should curve towards the rear of the cover.

Secure with small screws (F) in pre drilled holes.

When this is done slide the top cover (B) onto the tubes so that the other ends of the tubes protrude, fix the other side support poles to this side.

Then spread the cover so it fits evenly on the tubes.

Fit the 4 Bimini mounts(E) onto the support tubes(D)

With a few helping hands Decide the final position of the Bimini on your particular boat,

Bearing in mind where it will lie when stowed and where you want shade. This will vary from boat to boat and although the picture shows the most common way round they can be reversed if required.

Once decided Mark and drill the 2 holes for each of the 2 front supports with a suitable drill. Fix the front supports in place and decide the final placing of the rear support mounts so that the roof sits flat. Then drill and secure.

Fit the 2 front straps (H) round the front tubes either at the side or in the 2 cut aways on the top tube depending on application. Mount the 2 strap fixing eyes (J) in suitable positions forward of the Bimini. The straps now need adjusting so that when clipped to the eyes they are reasonably taut.

The cover can be stored in the upright position with its cover on …

Or by removing 1 screw each side be stowed flat for towing or covering.
